My guest today is Alain Frei, a comedian, actor, and cabaret artist born in Switzerland who now lives in Cologne. Alain has received numerous awards, especially as a comedian, and is now an integral part of the stand-up comedy scene.

To start, Alain tells us why he felt so strongly about the podcast's key question, "What is my path?", and how he got to where he is today without any plan.

He completed a vocational training program before embarking on his stage career – and he ended up failing right away. Hear how this only made him want to prove himself even more and what role his inner lightness played in this.

He talks about turning points, but also why he was always sure he was exactly where he wanted to be – and the problem was more that the others didn't notice. ;-)

He speaks openly about a nervous breakdown he suffered as a very ambitious young man during his early years on stage. Learn why he says it was an important and positive experience for him today, and what helped him through this difficult time.
