**Translation of a German Episode**

My guest today is Lutz Schebesta. Lutz loves to entertain people – by telling stories. He's an author, comedian, and filmmaker.

As a reporter, he worked for RTL, Pro7 and VOX, among others, before writing the screenplay for the movie "Schiri im Abseits" (Offside Referee) in 2005, which he then made into a film.

But he's also successful off the big screen. His debut novel, "Frauenheld," was a bestseller. His sixth novel will be published soon.

Show notes

Today you will hear from Lutz, among other things, how his professional development led him, after many years in television, to his dream job – that of author – and how he sometimes took very unconventional and courageous paths in the process.

He shares key experiences, how he deals with failure, and his drive to continually launch new projects – even when those around him often reacted with serious doubts. You'll also learn more about his advice to start with a "blank sheet of paper" when looking for a new career path in this episode.

A little hint for you – this interview was one of my first. I was even more excited than I am today (and still am), and a lot has happened in terms of technology since then. I hope Lutz's exciting stories will help you overlook that.

  • Lutz's bestseller novel "Womanizer"

  • His book "Comedy Killer"

  • His brand new novel "By Shooting Star into My Heart" will be published on October 9, 2019!
