He always knew that he wanted to become a sports reporter – even without studying journalism or training.
And he did it, for example, he hosted UEFA Champions League matches and the Sat.1 football magazine.
For an eternity, he hosted the talk show "Johannes B. Kerner" on ZDF, which was named after him and featured chancellors and celebrities.
He's currently on the road again (along with a variety of projects) with his own show, the talk show "Bestbesetzung" on Magenta TV. And he's also socially active, including through his own foundation.
Show notes
In this interview, Johannes describes how he was simply lucky at many points along his journey and the important role other people played in it. He tells us who his role models were, how he was able to develop "in the shadow" of Reinhold Beckmann and Jörg Wontorra, and how he was also allowed to make mistakes.
Johannes describes how he dealt with the sadness of experiencing a major setback. Why some people sometimes considered him very cheeky, how Jürgen Klopp was placed at his side as a second-division coach and how he is now a very special person in his life—and much more you'll hear in this episode.
Oh, and because he still deals with it himself despite his many years of experience, he shares a few valuable tips for dealing with pre-performance anxiety. Go on, have fun!
