**Translation of a German Episode**

He earned his Master of Science, an MBA, and then started out as a high-flyer at PwC Management Consulting in Luxembourg, where, in addition to his interest in numbers, he also somehow lacked a sense of purpose.
While on vacation in Malaysia , he and his family were kidnapped by terrorists and taken to the Philippines for several months. That was in 2000. Today, he is a successful resilience trainer, bestselling author, and speaker.
Show notes
He tells us how he actually asked the universe for a sign before this pivotal experience. And how he still made the mistake of continuing on as before. We hear how, looking back on his entire life, he describes every turning point as a crisis and eventually asked himself, "What do I really want in life?" In this episode, you'll learn how he found the answer, followed through, and took responsibility for it, as well as what advice he has for others.
Marc also shares with us how losing his job made it easier for him to step out of his comfort zone, the role resilience plays in phases of career change, and why it has absolutely nothing to do with optimism. We talk about his search for recognition at the time, a magic moment, taking on a leadership role, and doubts on the path to self-employment. Curious? Then listen!

Marc's book "Strong through Crises"
I recorded this conversation, which focuses heavily on crises, a few months ago. And because of the coronavirus, we're all experiencing what such unexpected, drastic changes can mean – both personally and professionally. If you have any questions about the latter or would like to discuss your situation, please contact me at coaching@gina-friedrich.com .
I wish you much strength, prudence and also moments of humorous lightness.
See you soon, your Gina ☺
