**Translation of a German Episode**

In today's episode, you'll meet Dr. Jörg Maas, who currently lives in Mainz and whose heart has always beat for education.

Before Jörg became CEO of the Stiftung Lesen and chairman of the European network EURead, he was managing director of the Jugend forscht Foundation.

Other exciting positions included his roles as European coordinator of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle and as managing director of the German Foundation for World Population.

He has studied extensively, focusing on science, education and technology, at Harvard University and the Harvard & Stanford Business Schools, among others.

Show notes

In the interview, Jörg tells us, among other things, how and why he made the decision to leave the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and how he dealt with doubts during this phase of his life.

He shares his thoughts on why you shouldn't constantly compare yourself to others and why he describes success as a "developing muscle." We talk about leaving your comfort zone, courage, and staying true to yourself, and learn that it was only in retrospect that he realized a common thread along his path.
