The Gallup Institute is a globally leading organization in public opinion research, behavioral analysis, and organizational consulting. With over 80 years of experience, Gallup has significantly shaped the research on identifying and promoting individual strengths.

The CliftonStrengths Assessment, developed by Dr. Donald O. Clifton, is based on scientific research and extensive data analysis. It helps individuals and organizations recognize and effectively apply their unique talents. Gallup supports millions of people and organizations worldwide in unlocking their potential and becoming more productive and successful through a strengths-based approach.


The Strengths Assessment

The Gallup StrengthsFinder, now known as the CliftonStrengths Assessment, is an online test designed to identify individual talents and strengths. Based on the research of Don Clifton, the test measures 34 different talent themes that describe how people naturally think, feel, and behave.

The test consists of 177 questions, each presenting two statements, and participants select the one that best describes them. The goal is to identify individual strengths and associated needs to develop them further and apply them more effectively in both professional and personal contexts.

The 34 talent themes are divided into four categories:

  • Execution

  • Influence

  • Relationship Building

  • Strategic Thinking

This classification helps to better understand individual strengths and apply them purposefully.
